ANSWER:
Obviously the most dangerous virus family in existence is one known as Jamesviridae. There is only one virus in this family- Jamesvirus or common name 'The Gilkies'.
The properties of this virus is well documented:
-a rotund capsid
-non enveloped
-genome is ambisense ssRNA
Once clinical signs manifest, the prognosis is grave.
Severe, acute neurological degeneration is observed with extensive demyelination. Ataxia and flaccid paralysis may also be observed.
Extraordinary cases may present with hydroencephalopathy and profound behavioural changes. In humans, this is most likely to manifest as an insatiable desire put an end to all bad jokes, an affinity towards 'cat flu' and a feeling that their brains will 'explode'.
Transmission of this highly contagious virus is unknown but it is believed to be contracted in times of confusion and sleep deprivation.
Jamesvirus has a narrow host range, with demographic surveys indicating a specificity for veterinary students. Studies indicate that these students act as an amplifying hosts whereas the rest of the population have insufficient viral titres and are hence classified dead-end hosts.
Control of the virus is under investigation. Thus far, it has proven to be extremely resilient.
A vaccine is currently under development.
Diagnosis is also difficult given that clinical signs do not show until the virus has truly supplanted itself within the host.

For the non vetters, this post was a none-too-subtle jibe at our Microbiology & Virology lecturer James Gilkerson who is the epitome of evil.
Many of us are praying we don't begin exhibiting CNS signs because there is no known cure at the current time.
