FAIL..

 .
Along with agonising over whether she will be adequately prepared for the remainder of her exams, Lan also has to consider which member of staff she shall nominate to present her with her white coat in July. Given that there is only 1 week left to submit her choice, Lan has decided to make her move. The alternative is that she do nothing and leave it to pot puck luck (wtfish?) .
Ideally, she should choose a member of staff who is specialised in the area that she wishes to establish her future career in. However, with 2 semesters to go, Lan just doesn't know. So instead, she has decided to nominate her favourite member of staff. Too bad she doesn't know how to go about it. So nooobularrrrr.
One ponders how to sound formal and yet not too pompous? One failed.

Dear Dr X,

As you may know, The White Coat Ceremony requires students to nominate a member of staff to present them with their white coat. Lan would like to ask if you are available on the 18th of July to present her with her white coat?
She feels like there should be another line here to suitably taper it off but it eludes her. Frankly put, it would make her day if you could.

Regards,

Lan

Obviously the above segment is only a vague copy of the actual email sent because;
a. Dr X's real name was obscured for privacy reasons LOL
b. Lan did not write her email in The Noble Language of Third Person
c. Showing the real one would just be revealing how extensively stupid Lan can be
d. FYI, in no part of the email did Lan intend to be funny

How art thou Enjay and Faithsies?
Lan still hasn't received a reply from Dr X.. maybe they take weekends off?

A white coat ceremony is like your induction into the profession because you are now rostered in hospital shifts and whatnot.. methinks =\

ps. Might need to find our jumping photon a friend?

It means that we will finally begin interacting with real patients owned by clients and all. Everything up to this point has been mostly simulated or done on teaching animals.

Lan shall begin plans to find a friend for our savvy Mr. Photon.

Gl for your exams Faithsies and hope your internship interview went alright!
