Given that it was the long weekend and parentals' anniversary, Lan decided she'd take the family on a roadtrip with Sivvy. She had to (heroically) battle through repetitive bouts of pouring rain (near zero visibility), spitting rain (too little to use windscreen wipers but sufficient to impair sight), wind and blinding sun glare to achieve her task. Moreover, it was rather curious to note that the above mentioned periods of rain would commence upon Lan's departure of a place.

First stop was Bairnsdale. A test drive of sorts for June and to settle parents' nerves about being away from home for two weeks. Despite already knowing Bairnsdale was an alright place, it even surpassed Lan's expectations by being on par with a town like say.. Adelaide. Ahahas.
Total time spent driving thus far 3.5 hours.
After a hasty lunch and a quick tour around the town centre and future accommodation, we left for Agnes Falls, situated in the La Trobe area via the South Gippie Highway. Googlemaps had failed to properly communicate to Lan how perilous the drive may be despite having checked topography and street view. Hmph.
Approximately 2 hours later, Lan reached a sealed road to ascend a hill. There was no lane division and no barriers to prevent cars tumbling down the dangerous albeit picturesque, grassy slopes. It seemed to Lan a fusion of going to the snow and TopGear's Bolivia special. However, she had timed herself perfectly, having arrived just as the sun was beginning to go down- suitable for flash photography. An SLR would have been handy =(
The drive home was just as eventful with alternating occurrences of sun glare and harsh sheets of rain. We stopped by at Springvale for a hearty (and wayyy too filling) dinner before heading off home.
Total time spent driving: 10 hours.
Lan's butt aches and Sivvy is covered in thousands of dead mozzies.
