Halfway Dinner..

The Halfway Dinner was held last night at Leonda by the Yarra, a very flashy, elegant venue located in Hawthorn and most surprisingly- by the Yarra?

Lan's day was as follows:
- Leave for uni at 8am
...arrive at uni at 920am (DAMN TRAFFIC!)
-Lectures til 1pm but finished early at 1230pm
-Ditch SB & co to go studying with Sivvy til 120pm
-Return to common room at 125pm
-WAS REUNITED WITH TOADIE OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!
- Went to parasitology test 2pm
- Languished on q3 and some other ones for awhile. Absolute mind blanks were being drawn.
- Finished test at 240pm, rushed home.
- Arrived home at 330pm (DAMN ROADWORKS), showered, packed dress etc.. and departed for cousin's at 405pm
- Arrived cousin's at 430pm (Damn slow trucks) and immediately got stuff done (hair, cake)
- Parents arrived to pick up at 6pm but Lan hadn't changed yet = changing in the laundry ahahas
- Left at 620pm after cousin had insisted Lan be smothered in sparkles
- Dropped by at Sheldon to let brother off (had Debutante Ball at the same time) at 640pm
- Arrived at Leonda at 702pm
- Realised nobody was there yet and waited with parents in the car for 15 minutes. Lovely.
- Went inside and caught the last of the canapes
- Caught a reflection and was distinctly reminded of that yr 10 language analysis piece "Lambs dressed as mutton" or something to that effect. Ouch.
- Sat and ate food.
- Speeches about the impact of Black Saturday. In a critical moment of realisation, Lan found that she had not fully comprehended or considered the scale of devastation those fires had wrought.
- Ate more food. Took photos. Probably offended/annoyed/befuddled some people with the no touch policy. Would have been quite a conundrum to suddenly find yourself unsure of where to put your hands.
- Stuff.
-Went home at 1147pm

Other things of mention:
- Cake is a pain but waterproof cake is a MEGA pain
- Someone (one Canavette) was ecstatic about managing to touch my shoulder. My shoulder has been lamenting its loss of innocence ever since
-Lan has been profusely apologising to her Piggle crew but they are still mightily offended she didn't bring them along =(

Twas fun taking photos of people unawares (as usual) and twas a good night.

LAN, you look beautiful! Your eyes are like...BIG (can't come up with an appropriate analogy...first thing that popped into my head was "Big as meatballs" LOL...just had dinner..)

The venue looked really nice as well!! It looked more like a ball than a dinner!

anyway, agent T, out.
