Lan felt extremely uncomfortable in the attire required at such events
but it twas a necessity that she had to endure.
Moreover, her face also felt heavy from the various powders and other aromatic oddities
that were applied to her poor face.
However, Lan does concede that she could have refused to go
and hence could have avoided all the frivolities that she does not usually partake in.
